ORANJESTAD - On June 12, the Filipino community in Aruba celebrated its 121st Independence Day or popularly known by Filipinos as "Araw ng Kasarinlan" or "Araw ng Kalayaan" which literally translated means "Day of Freedom".

Evelyn Wever Croes, Consul General in The Hague Lolita Capo, Governor of Aruba Alfonso Boekhoudt, Honorary Consul General in Aruba, Ami Henriquez-Mendez and President of Parliament Ady Thijsen during the protocol ceremony celebrating the Philippine Independence DayThe Governor of Aruba Alfonso Boekhoudt, the Minister President of Aruba Evelyn Wever-Croes and President of the Parliament Ady Thijsen were welcomed by the Consul General of the Philippines  in The Hague Lolita Capo and Honorary Consul the Philippines in Aruba Ami Henriquez-Mendez.
