ORANJESTAD - On April 11, 2019 the innovative eLearning pilot project for primary schools was launched in the presence of the Prime Minister mr Evelyn Wever-Croes and the Minister of Education, Science and Sustainable Development dr. Rudy Lampe at the primary school Macuarima.
This aim of this project is to stimulate the 21st Century Skills from an early age and it serves as an accelerator for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) set by the United Nations. Furthermore it should improve education, stimulate innovation and encourage collaboration at work.
With this project, innovation will be the core in education while the return of investment will be properly measured. The eLearning Pilot Project will kick off in the upcoming scholastic year.
Investments within the education of Aruba has been stalled over the past years. Many schools have outdated computers while some are limited to teach only the theoretical aspects of IT. The lack of proper tools within education is the reason the Government is pushing education into a new era. With the eLearning Pilot Project, these issues will be addressed, education will thrive and students will be better prepared for their future career. This will also serve as an opportunity for teachers to upgrade their knowledge where needed.
