The President of the Republic of Estonia is the head of state of the Republic of Estonia. The current President is Kersti Kaljulaid, elected by Parliament on October 3, 2016, becoming the first woman and youngest person ever who holds the position. President Kaljulaid and the prime Minister of Aruba, Evelyn Wever-Croes share the same point of view that innovation and e-governance is the direction that countries must follow. President Kaljulaid informed Prime minister of the impressive e-governance process in Estonia and the acceptance and dedication of its people that have led to Estonia becoming one of world’s most developed digital societies.
The president of Estonia also expressed interest in a cooperation between Estonia and Aruba.
During her stay in Estonia the Prime minister also participated as key note speaker at the e-Governance Conference’ in Tallin, where she shared her vision and plan for innovation and e-governance. In addition, the prime minister also gave a presentation and participated in a debate when she accentuated the benefits on cooperation between small countries and shared her vision and plans on the digital journey Aruba will embark on.
